We have an immediate opening for a Mortgage Loan Originator. If you’re looking to grow your client base as a mortgage loan originator, this is your opportunity. The primary role of the Mortgage Loan Originator is to originate mortgages, manage and be held accountable for your individual loan pipeline, network and build relationships with realtors, wholesale lenders, financial professionals, past customers, and other nontraditional sources while providing excellent customer service.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

  • Inform prospective and existing customers of MortgageDepot programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and loan procedures
  • Analyze applicant’s financial data; including financial statements, tax returns, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting credit and match customers’ needs with an appropriate loan program and their level of risk, and if necessary, issue a prequalification letter
  • Process customers’ application; quote the rate and points, and complete follow-up activities with the assistance of a loan processor in a timely manner
  • Attend in-person meetings with potential clients or real estate brokers
  • Compile loan packages and facilitates negotiations with applicants to establish standards on items such as fees, loan repayment options and other credit terms

Compensation:

  • All compensation options are based on experience and past production numbers

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in mortgage sales
  • Must be licensed through NMLS in NY or FL. If you don’t have a license, QUALIFIED candidates will be sponsored by Us
  • Customer service oriented
  • Strong organizational and negotiation skills
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communications skills
  • Understands all mortgage products, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, FHA & Conventional
  • Underwriting guidelines, and an ability to adapt to market-driven portfolio programs
  • Understands compliance requirements to originate a quality loan
  • Calyx software experience highly desired
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams to collaborate with colleagues and external clients.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Candidate must have proven ability to learn new technology and can quickly put their training into action
  • Be open to participate in Marketing initiatives
  • Bilingual is a plus, but not mandatory
