MortgageDepot (NMLS #1133788) a rapidly growing multistate mortgage broker, is seeking an experienced Loan Processor to work closely with our high producing Loan Officers. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate packaging of all loans originated by their team.

Job Description

  • Prepare and processes mortgage loan files from application through closing.
  • Ensure compliance with investor guidelines and customer service standards.
  • Communicate with customers, internal staff, brokers, title companies, etc. to respond to inquiries, resolve problems, and obtain all necessary documentation required for the file.
  • Enter prospective new loan applications into the loan origination system, ordering credit reports, appraisals, escrow instructions, and preliminary title reports, verifications, and any other items required on the loan files.
  • Reconcile and organize all application information received and checking items for qualification; provide status updates, discussing any problems/concerns that may surface.
  • Contact necessary parties for any items still missing, which may include: following up with applicants directly for essential details or clarification, advising operations managers and loan officers of any potential problems that arise in completing the package in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all files submitted for underwriting are complete, easy to understand, allowing the lender to complete an evaluation of the data in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting current status of pipeline on a weekly basis.
  • Perform post-closing quality control on completed files.
  • Work to resolve any problems and conditions on files.
  • Understand and utilize the mortgage broker platform.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year mortgage processing and/or underwriting experience.
  • Proficient in mortgage loan computer software (e.g. Calyx Point).
  • Well-versed in FHA, FANNIEMAE, FREDDIEMAC, and VA guidelines.
  • Organized and detailed oriented to handle a large volume of transactions.
  • Ability to problem solve and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform clerical and statistical work requiring speed and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), bi-lingual ability is a plus.
  • Strong team, client, and service orientation.
  • Proactive, energetic, resourceful.
